Susan Gardner is the Senior Director and General Manager for North America at Navis. In her role, Susan is responsible for all sales and professional services in North America for Navis.
Since coming to Navis in 2014, Susan has been involved with the sales process for numerous customers including The Port of Virginia, Kingston Freeport Terminal, The Georgia Port Authority and Ports America as well as many others. In January of 2018 she assumed her current role in which she is now leading the Sales and Professional Services teams for North America. The Professional Services team she leads is involved in numerous go-lives each year ranging from manual operations to automated and semi-automated sites.
Prior to joining Navis, she spent 18 years with APM Terminals. During those years she worked at five different North American Terminals holding operational roles. In 2008, she became the first female to be named a Terminal Director for APM Terminals. She held the Terminal Director role in Charleston, South Carolina, followed by Tacoma, Washington. As the Terminal Director she was responsible for the safe, productive and profitable operation of the terminal as well as all aspects of sales and marketing for each site. During her time at APMT, she acquired 17 years of experience as a Navis Customer starting with Power Stow, when she was a vessel planner, and a user of the Navis Terminal Operating System which was in operation at all the terminals she worked at and managed. This experience helps her understand the customer perspective in all of the projects she and her team are involved with at Navis.
Susan Gardner holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Marine Transportation from U.S. Merchant Marine Academy as well as an MBA from Queens University in Charlotte, NC.
