Navis announced that Luis A. Ayala Colón Sucrs., Inc. has selected to implement N4, along with Navis Professional Services and Navis Training Services at its terminal. The partnership with Navis aims to improve operations at its San Juan, Puerto Rico-based terminal and continues to provide its customers with high quality service. The order was booked in Cargotec's 2018 first quarter order intake.

Navis Launches New Bluetracker Modules

Navis has introduced two new Bluetracker modules that offer benefits to ship owners, ship managers and charterers. The modules simplify the process of preparing tender descriptions of ships for time-charter agreements based on operational ship data. In addition, they facilitate the seamless tracking of ship performance data that is primarily involved in the voyage-by-voyage spot market in order to foster energy-efficient ship operations.

DP World Posorja Selects Navis N4

Navis announced that DPW Posorja has chosen to implement the N4 terminal operating system at its greenfield multi-purpose port project in Ecuador, currently under construction.  Dubai-based port and terminal operator DP World was awarded a 50-year concession from the Government of Ecuador to build the country’s first deepwater port to help fuel economic growth and connect Ecuador with international markets.

Majority of Navis Customers Surveyed Exploring Some Level of Automation to Stay Competitive in Ocean Shipping Industry

Navis unveiled new survey findings that explore the growing shift towards automation for global terminal operators and the associated challenges. Increasing numbers of terminals are using higher levels of automation to improve productivity and efficiency and ultimately raise their competitive advantage in the market.  Respondents to the customer survey show that a majority of terminal operators (74 percent) clearly believe that automation in some form (full, equipment or process automation) will be critical to stay competitive in the next 3-5 years.
