Long Beach Container Terminal’s Pier F Successfully Goes Live with N4

 “Migrating from SPARCS Express to N4 at LBCT’s Pier F facility provides us with the critical technology foundation and implementation experience needed to ensure an efficient N4 go-live at the new Middle Harbor Terminal site in early 2015,” says Anthony Otto, President and CEO at LBCT. “The teamwork between LBCT and Navis during the go-live was impressive. TOS implementations are often a complex undertaking involving the integration of multiple systems into one overall solution. The implementation of the new operating systems at Maher's Elizabeth, NJ facility has turned the corner, as service has retruned to acceptable levels during the past several weeks, albeit at reduced volume.   Barring any unforeseen circumstances, this steady progress has now put the terminal in a position to handle all of its business and transition to normalized operations.

Joint Media Statement: Maher Terminals and Navis

Maher Terminals has commenced with the implementation of the final phase of the new terminal operating system at its facility in the Port of New York and New Jersey. After successful implementation of earlier phases of this important initiative, and extensive testing of the current phase of implementation, the operation has encountered some unexpected issues. These issues have led to delays, which are expected to be temporary while both Navis and Maher Terminals continue to commit all available resources to identify and resolve those technical issues. Noticeable improvements are already being realized as users adjust to new systems and processes.

Ports of Auckland Selects Navis SPARCS N4

Navis, a part of Cargotec Corporation and the global technology standard for managing the movement of cargo through terminals, today announced that New Zealand-based Ports of Auckland (POAL) has selected the Navis SPARCS N4 terminal operating system (TOS) as part of a strategic technology investment.

After a previous engagement with another packaged TOS, POAL re-engaged Navis, selecting SPARCS N4 as its platform of choice against competitive options.

Riyadh Dry Port, located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, has successfully gone live with Navis SPARCS N4 terminal operating system (TOS). BAAS International Group (BIG), the operator of Riyadh Dry Port, will utilize the SPARCS N4 operating system to focus on achieving optimization for its rail and yard management operations.

Contship Italia Group to Implement Navis SPARCS N4 at Five Terminals

Contship Italia Group (CSI) group will implement Navis SPARCS N4 at its five terminals. Contship Italia Group, part of Eurokai, is the largest Italian terminal operator, handling more than 5.1 million TEUs in the Mediterranean region in 2012. DSP, Data and System Planning, a Navis Implementation Partner and IT services provider for ports and terminals, will lead the five terminal Navis SPARCS N4 implementation project.

APM Terminals Maasvlakte II Selects Navis SPARCS N4 for its Terminal Operating System

Upon completion, APM Terminals Maasvlakte II will operate as a 2.7 million TEU annual throughput capacity container terminal in the Port of Rotterdam. With plans to open in Q4 2014, APM Terminals Maasvlakte II will handle some of the world’s largest container ships as well as support APM Terminals’ Rotterdam facility, one of the largest in Europe.
