Transitioning from an outdated Cosmos TOS, the partnership with Navis marks the first step in OPCSA’s path towards modernizing operations with the goal of achieving steady productivity, quicker vessel turnaround times and greater efficiency with re-stow movements.

Brazil’s Terminal de Contêineres de Paranaguá Achieves Record Productivity of 31 Moves Per Hour Following Navis N4 Implementation

Navis today announced that Brazil’s Terminal de Contêineres de Paranaguá (TCP), one of the largest terminals in South America, has achieved the highest productivity levels in the terminal’s history following the implementation of the Navis N4 terminal operating system. In November 2017, the terminal reported a 15 percent increase per quay crane to 31 moves per hour (MPH) as well as a 21 percent increase in berth productivity to 103.4 MPH, solidifying its position among the most productive terminals in the country. In addition to the move to N4, a key component to success was a partnership for productivity, co-led by TCP Operations and Navis Optimization Services.

Navis and XVELA both took home awards at the recent Transport Arabia Excellence Awards held in Dubai. Navis was recognized with the TOS Technology Company of the Year Award, which recognizes the Terminal Operating Systems software company that has brought the most innovative TOS software to the market. XVELA won the Best Digital Innovation of the Year award, which recognizes a software project, product or process undertaken by a company in the last year that is unique and innovative, while also providing a gold standard for information technology solutions for the industry at large.

Navis to Launch New Online Training Portal and Operational End-User Training Program

In a dramatic step to significantly expand the scope and breadth of its TOS training, Navis will launch several new training offerings in the first quarter of 2018. Included in the launch will be the Navis Training Stack Academy, an online interactive training environment that will provide Navis users virtual reality training on all key aspects of the TOS product. In addition, Navis will roll out a series of operational end-user training courses, which can be customized to meet the unique needs of each Navis customer.
